WMF and Aiways are a great match, that complement each other nicely: WMF as a German heritage brand, with design and craftsmanship as core parts of the DNA and Aiways with its positioning as an eco-conscious lifestyle brand.
Sustainability is of course, also a key theme at the WMF premiere, and Aiways shares this eco-conscious passion with its vision to bring accessible and sustainable mobility to the mass market through its Aiways U5 SUV and future model, the Aiways U6-SUV Coupé.
The statuesque stars were able to relax in comfort in the rear of the Aiways U5 SUV, which offers unmatched leg- and head-room in the electric vehicle (EV) SUV segment. While enjoying the plush surroundings of the Aiways U5 SUV, the VIPs could enjoy a view of the starlit Munich sky through the panoramic sunroof, charge their mobile from the back seat or view their arrival time on the suspended touch screen. And after the event, the tired celebs were transported home in soothing style in the nimble yet comfortable ride that only an EV can provide.
Dr Alexander Klose, Executive Vice President of Overseas Operations at Aiways, commented: “We feel very proud to have worked with, and supported, WMF at their recent premiere. It was a great opportunity to showcase the unique features of the Aiways U5 SUV and promote accessible mobility to a fashion-led audience. “Aiways has successfully landed in Europe, and we are excited to continue growing as our strong brand attributes and range of battery-electric products attract new customers”, he concluded.
Mr Kilian Manninger, President of the Consumer Business Unit at WMF in Germany, said: “It was an obvious choice to use the Aiways U5 SUV as part of our new “WMF Perfection” coffee machine launch. At WMF, we strive to always achieve perfection and feel that Aiways embodies that same level of care and attention. We look forward to working with Aiways again.”
Attracting top-level sporting sponsorship
Aiways growing presence in Europe has resulted in approaches from many prominent organisations involved in local and international sporting events. The spacious, zero-emission Aiways U5 SUV appeals to event organisers who are keen to raise environmental credentials without compromising on quality.
Recently, Aiways has been invited to offer top-tier sponsorship and dedicated event support for many high-profile events. Teams of the German Soccer Bundesliga approached Aiways for a substantial sponsorship deal . As well as this, Aiways has also been approached by top teams of the English Premier League around a potential sponsorship deal for when the season begins at the beginning of August.
Aiways attracts not only ballsports, the Chinese e-mobility provider has been asked for a major sponsorship opportunity with one of Germany’s international cycling teams.
Mobility and more
Aiways is attracting interest from areas of influence outside the traditional automotive space. Dr Alexander Klose, Executive Vice President of Overseas Operations at Aiways, was recently invited to an informal meeting at the Bavarian Ministry of Economic Affairs to discuss Aiways expansion and other industry topics, along with other Chinese companies headquartered in Bavaria. The open discussion was hosted by the Vice President and Minister of Economic Affairs for Bavaria, Mr Hubert Aiwanger and Ms Gudrun Weidmann, Executive Director of Invest in Bavaria. This opportunity strengthened Aiways‘ future not only in Bavaria and Germany but also in Europe, which is led from its headquarters in Munich. Since opening in 2019, Aiways European hub has overseen the opening of order books in 14 European markets, with more to come.
As more and more businesses make the shift to electrified fleets, Aiways has a chance for growth in this evolving market. Dr Alexander Klose presented the battery-electric Aiways U5 SUV and Aiways upcoming second model at Germany’s leading fleet event, hosted by Autoflotte of the renowned Springer Media house. This prominent fleet event took place on May 3 and was attended by more than 80 key decision-makers from across the industry. This was the first time Aiways had introduced itself personally to the competitive fleet market, and its presence at this event aimed to establish Aiways products as an affordable, quality option for modern fleets.
In the third quarter of 2022, Aiways will introduce its second electric vehicle, the U6 SUV-Coupé, which will boost Aiways’ presence in the European market. The new Aiways U6 SUV-Coupé will harness the sporting power of an EV in a practical SUV package and prove that electric mobility can be fun and open to all.
