Shanghai/Munich, 27 April 2022 – Shanghai-based personal mobility provider Aiways has outranked all e-mobility brands in the annual ‘New Electric Vehicle (NEV) Brands’ quality survey with the fewest number of customer complaints based on the evaluation criterion. The rankings are collated by the China Automotive Quality Network which evaluates data from domestic and overseas markets to form an independent and objective evaluation of a brand’s performance.
The China Automobile Quality Network is the first official automobile quality complaint monitoring platform in China, which rely on the State Administration for Market Regulation, to release authoritative and exclusive reports. The New Electric Vehicle (NEV) Brands survey is one method to benchmark and monitor market improvements by analyzing customer complaints on a global scale.
A relative newcomer to the battery electric vehicle (BEV) market, Aiways placed ahead of many e-mobility giants in the NEV rankings. Aiways had the least number of complaints, followed by Neta (Hozon Auto), Leapmotor, HiPhi, Li Auto completing the top five. Nio ranked sixth, Tesla ninth and Xpeng tenth.
Aiways launched in China in 2019 and became the first Chinese EV manufacturer to export to Europe later that year. Aiways’ achievement in the quality survey reiterates the quality and reliability of its U5 SUV, which is on sale in 14 European markets plus Israel and China. By the end of 2022, Aiways will introduce its second BEV, the U6 SUV-Coupé.
Aiways overcame the challenges of exporting to Europe by taking on a different operational model from the outset. In both domestic and foreign markets, the entire value chain of manufacturing, R&D, product development, markets, and aftersales consider the needs of global customers at every stage. Aiways’ core technical team, based in China, is comprised of globally recognized automotive engineers and is supported by internationally renowned experts with rich European experience to help drive product quality.
When designing and building its own factory in Shangrao, China, Aiways ensured both Chinese and European regulations were met and worked with Siemens to create a ‘physical + digital’ twin smart factory in line with the German Industry 4.0 standard. The Aiways U5 SUV is built with strict German and China automotive manufacturing standards by some of the world’s top supply chain partners, ensuring a solid vehicle quality.
Prior to the official launch of the Aiways U5 SUV, two prototype models carried out an endurance drive across 12 countries in Europe covering a total of 15,022 kilometers. Upon completion, the U5 obtained WVTA certification, laying the foundations of international quality and opening the gate to enter Europe. Aiways has just completed rigorous winter testing of its next model, the Aiways U6 SUV-Coupé which will grace European roads later in 2022. Both models are battery electric, offering high quality, accessible zero emissions motoring, long range, class-leading practicality, and state-of-the-art safety features. Aiways intends to release one new battery electric vehicle per calendar year in Europe.
