Apollo Tyres Ltd has confirmed it will enter the row crop tyre segment in early 2025, with the launch of its first VF (Very-High Flexion) sprayer tyre).
This type of tyre is relied upon by arable farmers and contractors for fitment to trailed and self-propelled crop sprayers, where a narrow tread is required to drive between crop rows. The tyre must enable stable driving behaviour while managing the substantial lateral forces that occur as a result of the sprayer’s high centre of gravity. In addition, sprayer tyres must be resistant to the high levels of wear that can result from on-road driving and the use of four-wheel steering.
For the development of the new Vredestein tyre, Apollo Tyres’ objective has been to set new standards in the category in terms of stability, self-cleaning and long life.
“This product will be an important addition to our VF agricultural portfolio, ensuring we have highly competitive solutions across all key categories,” comments Guido Boerkamp, Global Head of Off-Highway Products at Apollo Tyres.”
Further technical information and performance data will be announced ahead of its unveiling at EIMA International 2024, the international agricultural machinery exhibition being held in Bologna, Italy from 6 to 10 November. Global sales are due to commence from the first quarter of 2025.
