All-season tyres: the new survey by Apollo Tyres revealed growing proportion of motorists seek year-round versatility.
- 78% of drivers in the Italy would now favour all-season replacement tyres
- Expanding Vredestein all-season range is suitable for family cars, EVs and high-performance vehicles
- Quatrac secured first place in Auto Bild’s recent annual all-season tyre test, outperforming 14 leading competitors
A new survey* commissioned by Apollo Tyres Ltd has revealed over three-quarters (78%) of motorists in the Italy would now consider all-season products when they next come to replace their tyres.
The findings point to an increase in the popularity of tyres specially designed to perform well in all conditions year-round, including dry, wet and snow. Apollo Tyres asked the same question back in 2021, when 76% of motorists in Italy said they would likely consider all-season replacement tyres.
Vredestein, which is owned by Apollo Tyres, introduced its first all-season tyre, the Quatrac, back in 1993 when the segment was in its infancy. Since then, the Vredestein Quatrac portfolio has been expanded year-on-year to meet the needs of a very diverse range of vehicles, and the range is now available in a wider choice of sizes than any rival. Today, the line-up includes the core Quatrac, the Quatrac Pro and Pro+ for high-performance cars and SUVs, and the Quatrac Pro EV – Europe’s first all-season tyre specifically engineered for electric vehicles.
Designed, developed and manufactured in Europe, all Vredestein Quatrac tyres feature a signature ‘deep V’ tread pattern and a large contact area for superior handling in the rain. All Quatrac tyres are certified for year-round use via the ‘Three-Peak Mountain Snowflake’ mark embossed on the sidewall.
Leadership confirmed through independent tests
Last month the Quatrac secured first place in Auto Bild’s annual all-season tyre test, outperforming 14 leading competitors. The Quatrac was singled out as being “exemplary” and praised for its “balanced performance,” “short braking distances” and “sporty and safe handling” in wet, dry and snowy conditions.
This latest victory adds to the Quatrac’s impressive track record in independent testing. For example, it is the only product in Auto Bild’s comprehensive annual all-season tyre tests to consistently achieve top five rankings over six consecutive years. That success extends across Europe, with the Quatrac earning second place in an all-season tyre test conducted last year by Auto Express, the UK’s best-selling motoring magazine.
Yves Pouliquen, Vice President, Commercial, Europe at Apollo Tyres, commented: “All-season tyres are becoming increasingly popular among motorists who want the reassurance of being able to safely tackle fast-changing weather conditions, year-round. With over three decades of expertise in all-season products, drivers can trust the Vredestein brand.”
