The fourth Multiple Myeloma congress will be held in Amsterdam between Thursday 20 and Saturday 22 April. The location is the Beurs van Berlage, the historic building which housed the exchange market in the city centre. The European Myeloma Network is a Europe-wide network whose objective is to achieve excellence in the research and treatment of Multiple Myeloma and related hematologic diseases.
Following two “virtual” editions, the EMN network is very excited to announce that this event will once again be held in person. As in the previous editions, the operation office set in Turin (Italy) is coordinating the whole event in collaboration with ER Congressi agency.
Registrations (see the form on the site emn2023) are already open, with “early bird” discounts available before 7 April 2023. It represents a further opportunity for young medics and researchers, who will be amongst the chief protagonists of the congress particularly as regards the poster area and oral presentations. Moreover, participants will earn access credits for CME (Continuing Medical Education) and EBAH (European Board for Accreditation in Haematology). The press area of the site also contains a dedicated channel for media accreditation.
The three-day programme provides a 12-session cycle, with an opportunity for the public to participate in a closing debate and to ask questions. Between 11.20 and 12.20 on Saturday 22 April, there will be a joint session with EHA (European Haematology Association), a not-for-profit, non-government organization whose mission is to promote excellence in patient care, research and haematology education.
The congress sees the return of “Meet the Experts”, a series of five parallel, in-depth sessions with specific focus on therapies, practices, medicines and patient/family relationships. Three will be held on the Friday morning, a further two on the Saturday. Access is limited to 30 participants.
The congress will conclude with lectures and educational sessions and sponsored symposia. The area dedicated to posters will host seventy-three abstracts (nine of which have earned selection for oral presentation), and a session dedicated to projects and patients’ perspectives.
The coordinators of the scientific programme are a Dutch contingent of Professors Pieter Sonneveld, Sonja Zweegman and Niels van de Donk, whilst the Italian group will be comprised of Professor Mario Boccadoro, Professor Francesca Gay and Doctor Roberto Mina.
Ten European countries are included in the EMN board: Austria with Prof. Heinz Ludwig, France with Prof. Philippe Moreau, Germany with Prof. Hermann Einsele. From Greece comes Prof. Meletios Athanasios Dimopoulos, whilst Italy is represented by the EMN vice-president Prof. Mario Boccadoro. EMN president Prof. Pieter Sonneveld is the Dutch delegate, whilst the Czech Republic is present in the form of Prof. Roman Hajek.
