Castrol launches new VECTON fully synthetic commercial vehicle lubricant that meets new ACEA Heavy-Duty specifications.
Castrol has launched a new product under its VECTON commercial vehicle lubricant range that meets the Association of European Automobile Manufacturers’ (ACEA) 2022 specifications for Heavy-Duty (HD) engines*. Castrol VECTON LONG DRAIN 5W-30 E6/E9 is a fully synthetic engine oil formulated to lubricate and protect heavy duty vehicles for longer, while meeting all regulatory and performance requirements across Europe.
The new product replaces VECTON FUEL SAVER 5W-30 E6/E9 in Castrol’s line-up and offers an upgraded specification profile including the new ACEA HD specifications E8 and E11. These new specifications are aimed at addressing increasing hardware complexity and the growing adoption of alternative fuels. Castrol VECTON LONG DRAIN 5W-30 E6/E9 also represents significant advances in lubricant performance levels, offering increased protection against oxidation and deposits. The new product also incorporates the latest American Petroleum Institute (API) tests, leading to greater global synergies across API and ACEA.
As one of the world’s leading lubricant suppliers, Castrol closely monitors automotive industry trends and OEM technical developments to meet the latest industry specifications and OEM requirements. During the new product’s development, Castrol carried out two new tests to ensure the lubricant offers optimal performance in both aeration and oxidation control**.
Castrol VECTON LONG DRAIN 5W-30 E6/E9 has now been globally approved for a greater number of OEM specifications over its predecessor, including MAN M 3775 / 3677, Volvo VDS-4.5 and Deutz DQC IV-18 LA specifications.
Workshop staff will be able to find more information about the new product, including all compatible OEM specifications, within Castrol’s Oil Finder Tool. Castrol has also used this opportunity to rename Castrol VECTON FUEL SAVER 5W-30 E7 to Castrol VECTON LONG DRAIN 5W-30 E7.
